What In The World Is Going On?! ~ How The Consciousness Shift May Be Affecting You

May 31, 2008

Does life seem to be getting increasingly more challenging? Have your emotions been more intense lately? Does it seem like there are more thoughts racing through your mind? Have you noticed your body tensing up for no apparent reason? Have you been feeling a vague - or not so vague - sense of anxiety? Are you finding it difficult to get a good night’s sleep? Do you seem to be compelled to keep busy? Are you feeling a mysterious sense of urgency? Do you have less patience? Do you find yourself obsessing more over things? Have your moods been shifting quickly from optimistic to discouraged - from delighted to downhearted? Does it seem harder than it use to be to enjoy life?

If you are experiencing some - or all - of these things, take heart. Believe it or not, it is a sign that something very positive is happening to you, and to the planet. These symptoms are (in most cases) a “by-product” of an extraordinary spiritual awakening - or “consciousness shift” - that Planet Earth and humanity are currently undergoing. This awakening has been prophesied for ages, and has been called “The Great Shift” — “The Planetary Ascension” — “The Quickening” — “An Evolutionary Leap” — and more recently, “Awakening to the New Consciousness.”

Where is this shift taking us?

The essence of it is that we are shifting from our current limited state, to a higher vibration and level of consciousness - a more spiritually evolved state, free from many of the individual and collective problems of our present existence. We are evolving beyond the state in which fear, violence, struggle, and strife can thrive. We are growing into a more enlightened state of being, which will be characterized by unity, peace, cooperation, compassion, harmony and freedom from many of our current limitations.

This shift is being catalyzed by an increase of Divine Evolutionary Light pouring into Earth’s atmosphere. This light is the force behind all evolution throughout the universe… the process of every created thing unfolding its full divine potential and moving up the ladder of consciousness. We are currently experiencing a long, sometimes rocky transition into this higher state… a phase that may be likened to cosmic growing pains.

This transition began way back in the 1960s, and has been gradually escalating in intensity ever since, with a few significant leaps thrown in for good measure… For example, during an unusually powerful alignment of planets in May of 1981 this evolutionary light was turned up several notches. Then it was cranked up several more ticks at what was called the “Harmonic Convergence” in August of 1987.

When will this shift culminate?

First, it should be noted that the consciousness shift is a “process,” - similar to the process of growing up - and there may not be any single point in time when it is suddenly complete. Still, there are a number of teachings predicting the end of the year 2012 as the time when the shift will reach a major culmination point, akin to what science calls “critical mass.” Critical mass is what occurs when enough parts of a whole reach a certain level, initiating a chain reaction in which all the other parts are automatically raised to that level as well. For example when you are heating water, it is the point at which so many molecules reach boiling temperature, that all the remaining molecules are automatically raised to that temperature and the water reaches a full boil. Hypothetically then, when enough individuals reach a certain level of consciousness, a chain reaction will occur, bringing the rest of humanity up to that level as well.

Many of the 2012 predictions can be traced back to the mysterious end of the ancient Mayan calendar, which measured time in vast cycles, based on Earth’s position within our galaxy and our galaxy’s movement through the cosmos. If this date is accurate, it would seem we have a bit of cramming to do over the next 5 years. I don’t claim to know what the time-line is. I can only speak of the process I have been experiencing and observing over the past several decades.

When this article was originally written, this evolutionary light was coming in occasional waves. Each time one of these waves of light would pour into our atmosphere, the planet’s vibration was raised to a slightly higher frequency, elevating our living Earth - along with us earthlings - to a higher level. The time in between waves gave us time to acclimate to the heightened vibration and level of consciousness.

Since then, the frequency and power of these light waves has accelerated greatly. Currently, the effects are considerably more intensified, and we are getting very little time between waves to catch our breath and adjust. Given the rate at which the intensity is escalating, it is conceivable that a major turning point could be reached around the predicted time.

What effect is this evolutionary energy having on us as individuals?

As our vibration and consciousness are being elevated to higher levels, we are being continually challenged to let go of our limited old level of being. We humans tend to instinctively hold on to what is familiar, and resist moving into the unknown, not trusting that it can be a place of greater freedom and happiness.

Growing beyond our old level of awareness requires letting go of our lower vibrational “stuff”… our limiting beliefs, our fears, and our physical-emotional toxins. As part of this clearing process, our stuff tends to become extremely amplified, so that we must finally deal with it before bidding it farewell. When this is happening, you don’t have to look hard to find it… it is generally right in your face. This same process can be seen occurring on a global level. Many of the events that are being played out on the world stage are a cleansing of humanity’s collective toxins, and a bringing to light of humanity’s collective “shadow”.

For many individuals, this process is triggering some of those difficulties mentioned at the beginning of this article… magnified emotions, physical tension, increased thought activity, etc. Most of the “disorders” that many are currently experiencing, are due (in part) to this intensified energy. These include: Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and Depression. Because everything is being amplified - especially our emotions - conditions which may have existed previously as minor problems, are now becoming intensified to the level of major disorders. (It should be noted that there are multiple factors involved in creating these disorders, and I am not at all minimizing their impact, or suggesting that an individual suffering from such a disorder should simply accept it as part of the awakening process.)

Fortunately the effects if this process are not all problematic. Many people are experiencing some very positive changes along with the challenges. These include: increased intuitive abilities; feeling more open hearted and compassionate; experiencing a greater degree of divine support and guidance in one’s life; feeling more bliss and grace in one’s meditations; discovering new creative abilities; receiving new insights and gaining deeper self understanding; experiencing more cosmic coincidences, aka “synchronicities” occurring in one’s life; and feeling a deeper connectedness with Spirit and with all life.

If what you are reading here corresponds with your life experience, you may be asking, “Why do I have to put up with all this crazy stuff just because I happen to be here at this time?” On the contrary, it is no accident that you are here at this extraordinary time. You volunteered to be here in order to participate in this great spiritual awakening. We are all in this boat together, going down the evolutionary rapids. How then, can you best deal with this wild ride? Here are some helpful tips…

1. Meditate daily. Daily meditation is ideal for relaxing and allowing the intense cosmic energies to flow through you, rather than resisting them… for facilitating the process of raising your consciousness and vibration… and for letting go of your limiting old baggage.

2. Stay centered. While you are going about your day, try to remember as often as possible to shift your attention back to that calm inner center you’ve touched upon in meditation. One effective method for doing this is simply paying attention to your breathing - for a few moments when you are getting stressed or in between tasks.

Remembering to stay centered is a very effective way to reduce stress, as well as a good way to get use to living at a higher vibration. Currently we are being subjected to powerful upward and downward pulling energies. Shifting back to your calm center as often as possible helps you stay aligned with the upward pull.

3. Learn to trust in higher guidance and assistance. There is much support available from the unseen realms to help us move through this difficult transition.

4. Get plenty of vitamin B.

5. Try to remember that these are extraordinary times. Our old definitions of normal - and normal behavior - no longer apply. Everything is amplified, including our quirks and fears, so you might consider giving yourself and others a little extra slack.

Here is a quote from Choquash - a Native American storyteller - which captures the essence of all this…

“The elders have sent me to tell you that now is like a rushing river, and this will be experienced in many different ways. There are those who would hold onto the shore… there is no shore. The shore is crumbling. Push off into the middle of the river. Keep your head above the water, look around to see who else is in the river with you, and celebrate.”

8 Steps That Take You From Self-saboteur To Sales Star

May 31, 2008

Unconscious beliefs can create a hidden barrier to sales success. Learn to identify and overcome sabotage with help from motivational speaker Pat Pearson.

Newport Coast, Calif., April 15, 2008 – Does financial success seem to elude you, no matter how hard you strive? Do you get close to your goals time and time again, only to find yourself repeatedly “snatching defeat from the jaws of victory?” According to direct sales expert Pat Pearson, you may have an unconscious agenda that is leading you to self-sabotage your sales.

“I have seen it over and over in working with hundreds of entrepreneurs and salespeople,” says Pearson. “Undermining their ambition is at least one hidden belief that holds them back from succeeding.”

For instance, Sally consistently finished in the Top 10 of her cosmetics sales company each year. By October she was usually the #1 or 2 sales producer. Yet in the last quarter, her sales would inevitably slide until she finished the year in 5th or 6th place—still excellent, yet clearly below her potential for the top spot.

Similarly, Janice sold clothing through a direct sales organization. Although she was very smart and personable with a great deal of style, she could never seem to make more than $30,000 a year, regardless of how much effort she put out.

If these examples sound frustratingly familiar to you, the reason may be rooted in your unconscious “Deserve Level.”

Explains Pearson, “Most people have an amount that they have unconsciously set as what they deserve to make. Whenever their earnings approach this limit, it triggers a host of self-sabotaging mechanisms that counteract their goals—they start to lose sales for no apparent reason, or their motivation drops, or they simply hit a sales ceiling that they can never seem to exceed.”

Once you identify your Deserve Level and its underlying causes, you can stop the sabotage and turn around your success.

Sally internalized a childhood message that being number one professionally meant that people wouldn’t like you. So she unconsciously sabotaged herself in order to be liked. Since reprogramming this negative belief, Sally has remained the number one or two salesperson in her company ever since.

In Janice’s case, she uncovered a fear that her father—a farmer who had never made more than $30,000 a year—would no longer love her if she earned more than that. When she asked him, he replied, “Of course not, I’ll love you no matter how much money you make.” One year later, Janice grossed $100,000.

Pearson provides in-depth coaching to individuals and organizations who want to increase their Deserve Level through her website, www.PatPearson.com. Here are the basic 8 Steps to Sales Success that she teaches her clients:

1) Find out your Deserve Level. First, write down the lowest monthly figure you can make and still stay in business. Then, write down the highest monthly figure you’ve ever made. This range is your Deserve Level.

2) Determine your business or personal goals for this year. These can include your desired income, how many people you want in your downline or your wish to have a loving relationship.

3) Ask yourself, “What am I doing to sabotage my goals?” For example, do you avoid public speaking or choke up when it’s time to close the sale?

4) Explore what fear(s) might be causing the sabotage behavior. Look at common fears such as fear of rejection, fear of asking, fear of closing, fear of failure or fear of success, or something unique to you.

5) Change your self-talk. More than 75% of our internal communication reinforces negative views about ourselves and the world. By writing out new beliefs, wants and goals as if you already have them (e.g., “I choose to do the work necessary to make $100,000 this year”), 20 times a day for at least 21 days, you can permanently “reprogram” your new Deserve Level.

6) Practice self-release. Accept, express and release negative emotions like anger, jealousy and discouragement. Ignoring these feelings won’t make them go away; they simply go “underground” and work against you behind the scenes.

7) Focus on self-nurturing. Be kind and understanding to yourself, especially when you are not perfect. Perfectionism amounts to ignoring the 95% of you that’s good and criticizing the 5% that can be improved.

8) Get support. Choose mentors who believe in you and encourage you to go after your dreams the same way they did. Allow yourself to receive praise for your accomplishments on a regular basis, and ask for positive feedback when you are feeling uncertain.

Using these 8 Steps to Sales Success, it is possible to stop sabotaging yourself and reach your goals—whether you want increased sales, better health or closer friendships. For more information, visit www.PatPearson.com.

The Chakra System – Raw Power Within Your Reach

May 31, 2008

The human chakra system was discovered thousands of years ago, and has been confirmed by numerous proven studies like acupuncture, yoga, and reiki. This amazing aspect of human health represents the raw energy of the human being.

I like to think of the chakra system as the fifth level of human being. Allow me to put this into perspective:

We are all aware of the physical body, psychological awareness, and emotional mind where the mental and physical actually meet in the form of peptides. Many people also choose to acknowledge the spiritual realm of life; by this reckoning we now have four aspects of the human form.

The chakra system, with its meridians and auric fields, represents the raw energy the flows through the physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual expressions of a human being. It can be thought of as the source power that drives our existence.

When certain areas of the chakra system are out of balance, physical disease can manifest in the body. Likewise emotional disorders can occur when other aspects of the human energy system are blocked or out of balance.

By correcting imbalances and allowing the healthy flow of energy through the chakra system, so-called incurable diseases can be eliminated, severe emotional problems can be corrected, and so forth. While western medicine has not fully endorsed this concept yet, more doctors are accepting the wonderful reality of the chakra system.

Within the next 50 years it is extremely likely that mainstream medicine will embrace the chakra points system. In fact, the only thing preventing widespread acceptance of chakra healing and chakra wisdom at this time is a politically motivated medical community.

Sickness is big business, especially while the pharmaceutical companies maintain their current level of financial influence over medical publications and general practices. But as the human mind continues to evolve and our species moves out of the neo dark age of corruption and self-sabotage, the myriad benefits of our natural energy systems will play an important role.

In addition to advanced healing benefits, knowledge of the chakra system empowers an individual with greater self-knowledge and direct access to the subatomic energy from which all things flow. Science has recently proven the existence of a unified quantum field, or an entangled essential reality at the core of all things; such a truth was spoken of freely thousands of years ago in Vedic and Taoist writings.

How ironic, it seems, that we are finding the universal wisdom in teachings made available in ancient times.

An exploration of the chakra system requires no specific religious orientation, and no particular spiritual practices. In fact, there is nothing at all mystical or paranormal about the chakra centers and their associated meridians.

One can take a completely scientific approach to the study of his or her own chakra system and base conclusions solely on the outcome of various meditations and exercises. Even the skeptic is likely to be fascinated by the very real and tangible results of such experimentation.

I challenge you to empower yourself by exploring the chakra system further. Doing so is entirely safe, and can be done with only a small amount of preliminary knowledge.

Angels And Guardian Angels

May 30, 2008

Angels.

Angels are messengers of the Lord and are spoken of in Hebrews as “ministering spirits”. In the New Testament Angels appear as ministers of God. Such as in Luke 1:5-25 when the angel Gabriel announced the birth of John the Baptist and told Elisabeth that her son would prepare the way for the Savior. Then 6 months later Gabriel appeared to Elisabeth’s cousin Mary and told her that her son would be the Savior of all mankind. Angels attended Christ throughout his life, “For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels,” Matthew 16:27 of King James Version of the Bible. Angels appeared to the shepherds watching their flocks on the night the Savior was born and proclaimed, Glory to God in the highest and on earth, peace, goodwill toward men. An angel also warns the little family to flee to Egypt and tells them when it is finally safe to return. In Luke 24 we also read of two angels announcing Christ’s resurrection.

Guardian Angel Prayer, from the Catholic Forum.

Guardian Angel from heaven so bright,

Watching beside me to lead me aright,

Fold your wings ’round me,

and guard me with love,

Softly sing songs to me

of heaven above.

Amen.

Guardian Angels.

There are many references to angels throughout the New Testament but no clear statement as to their nature or their relation to mankind in general.

Guardian Angels are said to protect and guide not just children. Honorius of Autun believed that every soul was assigned a guardian angel. In Catholicism it is believed that a guardian angel represents individuals before God, watches over them always, aids their prayers and presents their souls to God at death.

Angels are said to be Immortal spirits that appear to mankind at important moments in their lives. They appear as messengers of god, bringing comfort, warnings and tests of belief and deliverance.

In art Guardian Angels are depicted as very feminine and beautiful and sometimes with maternal attributes. Guardian Angels are typically painted wearing simple tunic style gowns in soft pastel colors or all white. Angels are most always painted with wings, their wings are said to represent their role as messengers of God. They are also often shown with musical instruments. The most popular being a harp or a some type of horn or trumpet.

Guardian Angels have been used as symbols of Christmas in the form of figurines, ornaments, Christmas tree toppers, Christmas cards and even Christmas cookies. One of the most popular uses for angels at Christmas is to include them in your nativity scene. One is typically hung above the Nativity Stable but they can also stand or kneel anywhere within the scene.

I think the most popular use of angels at Christmas is in music. A lot of the songs that we sing every year at Christmas time tell the story of angels announcing the Saviors birth. Some of those include, ‘Angels We Have Heard On High’ ‘Do You Hear What I Hear?’ and ‘It Came Upon a Midnight Clear’.

Home Is Where The Heart Is

Honoring Your Mother.

According to Webster to honor someone is to show high respect or esteem. So your Mothers Day celebration needs to be done with the greatest amount of respect you can show for one of the most important people in your life. Also, whatever you decide to do, don’t forget to give some type of honorable mention to all the other mothers in your family. With that in mind, here are some things you can do to honor your mom.

If there is one thing moms like its having all of her children together. So plan a special family dinner. It can be a formal affair at a very nice restaurant or in your home or it can be a more relaxed, very informal picnic or barbeque. The decision will depend on your mom and the atmosphere you know she would enjoy the most.

A very special gift would be to take your moms recipes that you and your siblings love the best and put them into a book. You can each add some of your most cherished moments with you mom. You can include some of grandma’s recipes too and a record of some special times between your mom and her mom as well.

Another very cherished gift would be to have a special portrait taken of you and all your siblings. If there is room you can include the spouses and all the grandchildren as well. This is especially nice if it has been awhile since one was taken.

Whatever you choose to do for mom, make sure to give her lots of hugs.

The Stages of Motherhood from a Childs Perspective.

4 Years Of Age My Mommy can do anything

8 Years Of Age My Mom knows a lot A whole lot

12 Years Of Age My Mother doesn’t really know quite everything

14 Years Of Age Naturally, Mother doesn’t know that, either

16 Years Of Age Mother? She’s hopelessly old fashioned

18 Years Of Age That old woman? She’s way out of date

25 Years Of Age Well, she might know a little bit about it

35 Years Of Age Before we decide, let’s get Mom’s opinion

45 Years Of Age Wonder what Mom would have thought about it

65 Years Of Age Wish I could talk it over with Mom

History of Mothers Day.

Here in the United States Mother’s Day is celebrated on the second Sunday in May and was inspired by the British Mothering day. The idea was brought over by social activist Julia Ward Howe after the Civil War, with the intention of uniting women against war. She got her inspiration for the holiday from Anne Jarvis who organized women during the Civil War in an effort to improve sanitary conditions for both sides.

After Ann’s death in 1907 her daughter, Anna, started a crusade to found a memorial day for women. The first Mother’s Day was celebrated in Grafton, West Virginia, on 10 May 1908, in the church where the elder Ann Jarvis had taught Sunday school. Originally the Andrews Methodist Episcopal Church, this building is now the International Mother’s Day Shrine. The holiday was declared official by some states beginning in 1912. In 1914 President Woodrow Wilson declared the first national Mother’s Day, as a day for American citizens to show the flag in honor of those mothers whose sons had died in war.

How To Get A Break From All Those Thoughts In Meditation

May 30, 2008

Many begin the practice of meditation with the notion that experiencing inner quietness requires turning off the mind and stopping the thoughts through sheer will. Those who try this quickly find how frustratingly difficult it can be. In fact, most soon discover that it is virtually impossible to simply turn off the mind for more than a few seconds. This is because the mind’s tendency to create thoughts is such a powerful natural force. One of the most important things you can learn in order to start meditating with effectiveness and ease, is that the thoughts are not your enemy. By trying to stop your thoughts or push them out of your mind, you are creating a situation of conflict while trying to achieve peace.

If you can’t find a bit of inner quietness through trying to control your mind, then what can you do to get a break from all that mental chatter? There are a number of ways in which you can experience a respite from your thoughts through meditation. Here are the three most effective approaches I’ve found through my years of meditating and teaching.

1. Let the method do the work

Most traditional meditation methods involve focusing your attention on one thing. This primary “object of focus” may be your breathing, a visual image, a mantra, or various other possibilities. By directing your attention to this object of focus you are directing it away from your thoughts. This in itself can provide some relief from being constantly involved in your thoughts.

However, what normally happens is that the thoughts - being very seductive - will generally pull your attention away from your object of focus. When this occurs, the key is to accept that it is ok and perfectly normal to become involved with your thoughts, and to avoid the tendency to fight against them. When you notice you’ve gone off on a train of thought, simply redirect your attention back to your object of focus - no matter how many times you have to do it.

How, you may ask, can you get relief from a noisy mind by bouncing back and forth like this? What you will discover as you continue to meditate, is that on some days you will experience periods when your thoughts slow down, or become more faint or dreamlike, or retreat into the background on their own. And there will be days when your mind suddenly and effortlessly shifts into a deep state of pure silence.

These quieter states may occur for just a few moments, or they may last longer. The important point is that when they do occur, it is not due to any intensified effort on your part… rather, they occur spontaneously, as a result of simply going through the steps of your meditation with relaxed effort and letting the method do the work.

This approach requires learning to trust the method and the process, as well as letting go of the notion that you can willfully subdue your thoughts. This “allowing” approach is an effective way to experience more quietness - and depth - in many meditation methods. However, the technique I have found most effective for producing spontaneous states of inner quietness through letting go and trusting the method is the Universal Mantra Meditation.

2. Going out of your mind

Another way to get a break from a noisy mind is to shift your attention out of your mind, i.e. away from the physical location of your mental activity. One of the most effective ways of doing this is to direct your attention to your heart chakra, the quiet energy field - about the size of a volleyball - that fills the area where your heart is.

To do this, you simply focus your attention on your heart chakra with relaxed effort, and as you do, feel or sense the quiet space that exists there. You may or may not experience it immediately. If you don’t, just remain focussed there - and away from your mind’s chatter - and eventually your perception will deepen into the experience of your quiet heart-space.

With continued practice, you may find your quiet heart-space expanding into what is known as your pure inner awareness. This pure awareness is your Essence… your Inner Self or Spirit. This silent awareness exists beyond the mind. When you experience this silent, “spacious awareness,” you will discover that even though your mind may still be creating thoughts, they do not disturb the profound peace of your Inner Self.

Regardless of how deep your initial experience of your heart chakra is, notice that it is, in fact, away from your mind’s chatter. Chances are, your thoughts will still pull you back into your head and the familiar drama taking place there. But when you notice that this has occurred, simply redirect your attention back to your heart chakra and the quietness that exists there.

3. Going into your mind

Another effective way to experience inner quietness is to go totally into your mind, focussing your attention on the thoughts as they move through your mental field. Many find that as soon as they begin looking for their thoughts, ironically, they seem to disappear. When practicing this meditation, it helps to understand that your thoughts are simply a stream of energy and ideas flowing through the energy field known as your mind. The flow of this thought-stream is generally upwards.

To practice this method, simply direct your attention to your thoughts. With relaxed effort, pay attention to the stream of energy and ideas as it flows upward through your mind. What will occur at some point, is that you will begin to experience your thoughts more as energy than as ideas. As with most meditations, the thoughts will pull your attention in at times. When you notice that you’ve become involved in the narrative of your thoughts, gently shift your focus toward perceiving them more as a flow of energy.

Daily meditation produces a broad spectrum of positive life changes, and most of these will occur regardless of whether you experience a quiet mind when you meditate. However, the various states of inner quietness are certainly an enjoyable aspect of meditation. If getting a break from your mind’s chatter is one of the reasons you took up meditation, then I suggest you give these three approaches a try and see which works best for you.

It is worth repeating that your thoughts are not the enemy, and attempting to subdue them will not lead to a quiet mind. Rather, by following one of these suggested approaches/methods, you will begin to experience periods of relief from your thoughts… and as you continue your meditation practice, those spontaneous states of quietness will begin to occur more frequently.

Second, try to ask your child to make a huge list of positive thoughts and phrases. The child needs to focus on these phrases and thoughts. You can even record these phrases in your child’s voice.

Third, teach your child, the breathing pattern where he needs to concentrate. Let him breathe in, breathe out and then again breathe in. Let him lie still and relaxed with his eyes closed.

Let the child learn to relax while meditating. Teach him how to solve different problems in life. Let him focus on the breathing pattern.

There are certain things you need to keep in mind, when teaching the child how to meditate:
